During the Miracle Max scene, both Rob Reiner and Cary Elwes had to be removed from the set for laughing at Billy Crystal's improvised lines. A dummy of Westley that Fezzik had been carrying around took Elwes' place on the table while him and Reiner watched the filming on a close circuit monitor outside the closed set.
