After Phir Hera Pheri, the plan was to make film titled "Hera Pheri 4" or "International Hera Pheri". The inside joke would be the characters would keep referring to incidents that happened in the fictional "Hera Pheri 3". In reality Hera Pheri 4 would be the actually "Hera Pheri 3". The number 4 would be used just to make a humorous joke that the audience did not get to see a "Heri Pheri 3". Amitabh Bachchan was approached with the script of Hera Pheri 4. He heard the script but the film was put on the back burner for a while.
