Any classic element associated with the angels is omitted in the movie, in the same way that it too was omitted in Il cielo sopra Berlino (1987), the basis for this movie: this is why Seth and the rest of the angels never appear wearing white clothes or tunics, having a halo in the head or a harp in the hands, as an attempt for pretending to be human beings if one of them decides to appear to another human, as Seth does to Maggie. In the same way, they never talk about the Vatican, Holy Bible, Heaven or God except briefly.
