Billy Barrett the British child actor who plays Casper in Invasion for Apple TV and won an international Emmy for Responsible Child (2019), auditioned for the role of young Adam but lost the role to Walker Scobell. According to Barrett (retelling the anecdote during an Instagram live in December 2021), during his zoom audition/ meeting with Ryan Reynolds, he accidentally told Ryan Reynolds he loved him when signing off. Barrett later worked with Adam Project director Shaun Levy on the upcoming movie Crater.
