Charlize Theron coaxed prosthetic makeup artist Kazu Hiro out of retirement for his work on this film, and he won his second Academy Award for his efforts. He had previously won his first Academy Award for L'ora più buia (2017) after turning Gary Oldman into Winston Churchill.
