Early on in the design process, Legacy Effects put together a 'garbage bag' proof of concept test, much like the one created at Stan Winston Studio for the Alien Queen in Aliens (1986). Shane Mahan says, "Guillermo and Scott came, I said, listen guys, don't panic. This is just a proposal on how we can make this work on set." Mahan laughs. "It was carved out of foam and it was rather preposterous, but it was the essence of what we were going to do."
