A regime of pills is part of the Treadstone / Blackbriar program and is quite prominent in this film. This was first referred to in the first film in the series, The Bourne Identity (2002), by the downed assassin in the farm field when he is being questioned by Jason. There is no mention of pills in the second or third Bourne films. Clearly the blunder with Jason in the first film taught the agency a lesson as there is now a yellow triangular pill.
