The theme music for "Capitol Beat", the news show hosted by Mark Gottfried (Ted McGinley), is actually the theme music for the UK's Independent Television News (ITN)'s News At Ten and Night Time News bulletin, a genuine and award winning news program. The theme is a short passage taken from a piece by Johnny Pearson, called "The Awakening", itself part of a longer composition called "20th Century Portrait".
