Dylan Walsh plays Lois' father, General Sam Lane, replacing Glenn Morshower, who played the character in the first season of Supergirl (2015). They both had supporting roles in Clint Eastwood's film Debito di sangue (2002), and Morshower later appeared in X-Men - L'inizio (2011) with Michael Ironside, who played General Lane in Smallville (2001).
