Additional information on the locks: Although the film shows only one, there are actually a number of bridges along the Seine in Paris that have varying amounts of locks attached by lovers. The main one mentioned here is the one in the film. Part of the reason the locks were removed from the bridge in 2015 was the structural damage they were causing to the bridge. The combined weight was estimated at 45 tons. Of the removed locks, many were sold at a charity auction, while others were sent to a warehouse, presumably for melting at a later date. A man who goes by Phileas Le Cléateur, dubbed the "Love Lock Savior" by French media and a collector of antique keys, found that he could open some 800+ of the locks with his keys. He rescued those and has been in the laborious process since of restoring them to their original owners. Further, the railings were removed and replaced with glass panels, meaning locks can never be attached to that bridge again.
