Actress Meg Foster replaced actress Susan Sarandon in the lead female role of Stella Cooke. The initial casting of the latter actress had been originally announced in an article published in the 27th June 1977 edition of show-business trade-paper 'Daily Variety'. Reportedly, delays in financing the picture caused scheduling conflicts and Sarandon became unavailable and in the end Foster was cast.
