In an extended scene Banner turns down Romanoff's offer because she tells him the dead are dead and Banner says he can never forget the dead. This perhaps alludes to the idea that Banner wouldn't turn away from helping people. Yet in the movie, it's Nat that chooses the mission over her relationship with Banner.
