Rocky wears a gold chain with a boxing glove cuff link charm on it throughout the film. During a flashback sequence, we see that Mickey gifted this to Rocky while he was training him for his first fight with Apollo Creed. Mickey tells Rocky that it was originally gifted to him by real life boxing legend Rocky Marciano. Rocky jokingly asks Mickey about the other cuff link, to which Mickey responds "He probably gave it to some bum." Apollo Creed wears a nearly identical necklace in Rocky 2, and so it can be inferred that Marciano gave his other cuff link to Apollo Creed at some point in his early career, before his death in 1969.
