The big problem with the film is that they had little money to pay someone to come in and rewrite it. Michael Bay mentioned in the industry today, someone could make up to $100,000 doing a rewrite. The film had $10,000 to work with. Improvising and Bay working on the script with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence each day before filming are what saved the film.
