"Queen for a Day" is a a bargaining chip in plea bargaining negotiations. It is a proffer letter, which means that the arresting officer does not have to commit to anything upfront. The offer will be reviewed and will not be deemed prejudicial during the course of the negotiation and thereafter. If the information provided is of value, a cooperative arrangement may be discussed. It was also the name of a 1950's game show that started on radio Sogni ad occhi aperti (1951) and received an eventual television treatment Queen for a Day (1956), where woman competed for prizes based on why they were deserving of royal treatment.
