Chad Meeks-Martin was initially written as being dead following his third act attack by a Ghostface at the Macher/Freeman house. However the actor Mason Gooding was so well received by the filmmakers they wrote his character surviving in the final scene. This parallels Dewey's survival in the first two films and directly the original as Chad is wheeled out critically injured after his stabbing from the same house Dewey did into an ambulance.
