English actor Jeremy Irons speaks Polish in this movie. Of the four Polish characters, Iron's Nowak character is the only one that speaks English. According to John Orr in 'Senses of Cinema' (2009), Irons speaks both "English-accented Polish" and "Polish-accented English".
