The character of Nancy, played by Natalia Dyer, is an homage to Nightmare - Dal profondo della notte (1984). She dresses similarly, even down to her hair at times. She also arranges (with Jonathan (Charlie Heaton)) to set traps for the creature. This is reminiscent of the finale showdown of Nancy with Freddy Kruger.
