The demon Nun later shows up in 'The Conjuring Two' as a demonic entity repeatedly tormenting Lorraine Warren. However, he/she/it is seemingly vanquished when Sister Irene spits Jesus' blood in his/her/its face, therefore meaning that it has been sent back to Hell. So at some point, the Nun or Valak was summoned again from Hell to so he could later appear in 'Annabelle: Creation' and 'The Conjuring Two' and torment Lorraine Warren and Janet Hodgson. Presumably, this will be a plot point in the proposed sequel to The Nun or the other planned spin-off, 'The Crooked Man'.
