After the controversy and financial failure of Ghostbusters (2016), further sequels for that movie were abandoned. This prompted Sony to make a sequel to the original two films. When a box set was announced that included this film, the reboot was not included. When it was pointed out that the reboot has some fans, Sony decided to include it as a digital copy.
