Harry Barandes was originally cast as Eric Matthews, and Matt McCoy was originally cast as Alan Matthews, but after the pilot was shot, their scenes were replaced by Will Friedle and William Russ, who both lasted for duration of the series. A VHS tape of the original version exists.
