When Richie stabs his girlfriend Sam, this marks the second Scream to feature a Ghostface reveal that occurs as a killer stabbing their romantic interest in the chest, following Scream 4 (2011) where Charlie Walker revealed himself as a Ghostface while stabbing Kirby Reed in the stomach. Although Kirby doesn't return, she is shown to have survived via an Easter Egg on Richie's laptop.
