When the subway car crashes into Hollywood Blvd, there is a marquee sign for 2001: Odissea nello spazio (1968). In Twister (1996), another film directed by Jan De Bont, the audience is watching Shining (1980) during the F4 twister at the drive-in. Both films referenced were directed by Stanley Kubrick.
