This is the first of two movies in which director Tim Burton cast someone from EastEnders (1985). In this movie, Nitin Ganatra played Prince Pondicherry and also played Masood Ahmed on the soap. The other is Alice in Wonderland (2010), which featured Barbara Windsor, who played Peggy Mitchell. Burton is a fan of the soap.
