In part 1 of the season 2 finale when Ash is trying to get the evil out of his body, he tries different tactics to get it out like drinking hot sauce and steaming hot water. This is an homage to the scene in Army of Darkness when he does the same thing. Both times an evil body comes out of him. In Army of Darkness, a miniature clone that dove into his mouth turned into a full size clone that grew from his shoulder. In the show, a small evil creature came out of his mouth.
