Shannen Doherty has stated numerous times that the on-set fight between her and Alyssa Milano was due to both growing up as child stars and both promised the lead role, causing a riff when it was switched around to reflect one another each season. But since then, tension has cooled and they became friends. Coincidentally Shannen Doherty previously appeared on Beverly Hills, 90210 and Alyssa Milano previously appeared in its spin-off Melrose Place.
