While the film is historically correct in having the Racine Belles win the championship in the inaugural 1943 season, they defeated the Kenosha Comets in three games, not the Rockford Peaches in seven. In fact, Rockford was the only team in the 4-team league with a winning percentage under .500--by far the worst team in the league.
