During the beginning part of the Battle of Helm's Deep, after the Uruks work themselves into a frenzy by stamping their spear shafts and the elderly archer accidentally lets his arrow loose, killing an Uruk, the Uruk-Hai begin to lay siege to the Deeping Wall of Helm's Deep with traditional siege methods, mainly relying on strong ladders to get troops into the fortress via over the walls. The initial troops going up on the walls are Uruk-Hai soldiers in loincloths and masks of white metal wielding longer swords than those the normal Uruk-Hai Soldiers are wielding. While no official name has been given to these Uruks in the movies, in the table-top role-playing game and the licensed video games, they are called Berserker Uruks, who have no regard to their own lives and actually coat themselves in blood to whip themselves into a psychotic killing frenzy. This explains why one of them also freely sacrifices his own life to blow up the Deeping Wall later on.
