Douglas Adams's third and final script for the series, Shada, began location filming but was never completed due to industrial action, which put the BBC Television Centre studios out of action. In 1992, the existing material was launched direct-to-video as Doctor Who: Shada (1992) with the involvement of Tom Baker, who provided a narration to fill the gaps. Paul McGann also starred in a webcast version, Doctor Who: Shada (2003). In summer 2017, it was newly recorded with dialogue from the original cast, newly filmed with live-action material and newly recorded incidental music and sound effects, and a new 2D animation footage to complete the missing segments, inserted between the original live-action sequences.
