Elmore Leonard, whose work partially inspired this film was an author of short stories and novels along with being a screenwriter himself. Movie and tv adaptations of his work abound including 3:10 to Yuma, Jackie Brown, Get Shorty, Big Bounce, Justified, Karen Sisco, the Tall T, and Out of Sight. The star power involved in his works is enormous with Charles Bronson, Paul Newman, Burt Reynolds, Alan Alda, Clint Eastwood, George Clooney, Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston, Carla Gugino, and Diane Lane making appearances. Actors have played roles in Leonard's films and in the MCU, like Owen Wilson from the Big Bounce as Mobius in the tv show Loki and Mickey Rourke from Killshot as Ivan Vanko a.k.a. Whiplash in Iron Man 2. Paul Rudd himself has even narrated Elmore Leonard's Tishomingo Blues audiobook.
