When Vikas Mohan was lacking on funding to complete the film, he first decided to sell the film to the Overseas market first. A UK based Distribution company, Sheranwali Films, had not only decided to purchase the film but also fund the completion of the film. They had only one condition, to include a song which they had control over. This is how the song 'Jai Mata Di' was made, it was composed near the completion of the film and filmed on Akshay Kumar in Shimla. The company wanted a stamp on the film that this film belonged to them, hence the song was based on the Goddess Sheranwali. The song cost near around 1 Crore.
