The large room, in which members of the U.S. Government meet up to use monsters as a form of defense against the aliens bears a striking resemblance to the war room from Il dottor Stranamore - Ovvero: come ho imparato a non preoccuparmi e ad amare la bomba (1964). The character of General W.R. Monger even resembles and sounds like General Turgidson (George C. Scott) from that Stanley Kubrick movie.
