Similar to Ash's episode gap between badges, the largest amount of episodes that Dawn went without obtaining a ribbon was a 52-episode gap between Pokémon: Decisive Battle! Pochama vs Pottaishi!! (2007) - Pokémon: Decisive Match! Hikari vs Haruka!! (2008), a stretch that included two consecutive losses in the Appeal round. Dawn also had a 48-episode gap between ribbons towards the latter half of the Diamond & Pearl saga, from Pokémon: Pokémon Contest! Akebi Tournament!! (2009)-Pokémon: Double Battle! Vs Plusle & Minun!! (2010). Coincidentally, both of those episodes featured Ursula, whom Dawn would eventually defeat in the final round of those respective contests. Likewise, the largest amount of episodes that May went without obtaining a ribbon was a 29-episode gap from Pokémon: Shidake Town! Pokémon Contest!! (2004)-Pokémon: Pokémon Contest! Minamo Tournament! (2004).
