For the scene where young Noodles spies on a nude young Deborah, actress Margherita Pace was credited as Jennifer Connelly's body double. According to some rumors, Connelly herself had also done the scene, but the sequence was trimmed on the behalf of filmmakers. However, in a 2021 interview at 'El Pais', Connelly confirmed she wasn't her in the scene, saying, "for the scene where they spy me undressing they used a body double because at 11 years old I didn't do nudity."
