Over the years, as various cast members had previously been in police procedural series before, during, and after the original runs of "Life on Mars", and "Ashes to Ashes", such as Line of Duty, Lewis, Morse, Endeavour, Frost, etc and other crime series, every time the series is subsequently re-watched, it can create some gloriously bonkers fan theory "head canon", such as are the police officers in their other shows the same officers characters "re-incarnated" in this series - for example Adrian Dunbar is in Line of Duty, and in Ashes to Ashes, playing police officers in both series - is it the same character.
