During the opening narration that is spoken against black and white archival WWII photos the unnamed narrator notes that British Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery was in the north and U.S. LTG Patton was in the south. While this is accurate the allied command in the zone actually had Montgomery's full Army Group composed of several army subordinate echelons in the north and US LTG General Omar Bradley's 12th Army Group, of which LTG George Patton's III Army was a subordinate part in the south. Accurately stated, the Narrator would have said "Montgomery in the North and Bradley in the south." It's likely that Patton's name was used because he was probably the most recognizable U.S. field army commander in the European Theatre at the time.
