When this movie premiered on television in Norway in January 1989, Part 1 aired while Ted Bundy was still alive and on Death Row in Florida. Part 2 aired one week later, after Bundy had finally been executed. Television executives who scheduled the movie insisted the timing of the movie's airing was merely coincidental, and had been scheduled long before Bundy's execution date had been finalized.
