There is much confusion among viewers that the Kravitzes DO live or DO NOT live across the street from the Stephenses. The simple answer is: in the various episodes, they DO live across the street. Reality, however, is a different story. Since the exteriors are shot at the Columbia Ranch on Blondie Street, it's actually impossible to have two houses across the street from each other. Every house on Blondie Street is across the street from a large park. Seen across the street from the Stephens' house is a row of trees blocking the view of the park. Early episodes actually have a painted backdrop of those trees out front. Creating the illusion that Darrin and Samantha have a nosy neighbor living across the street is left to clever editing. The house used most often as the Kravitz home is called the Partridge Family House. It is next door to the Corner Church, seen in many episodes. So, to walk from the Stephens home to the Kravitz home, one would cross the street toward the Corner Church and continue down the sidewalk to the first house on the left. If you keep walking, you would find yourself at the Blondie House, best remembered as the home of Maj Anthony Nelson in Strega per amore (1965) but named for the Blondie serials for which it was built in the 1930s. This house was also used in several episodes of "Bewitched." The house directly next door to Darrin and Sam is known as the Lindsay House. It's best remembered as the Baxter home on the show Hazel (1961). The house appears in several episodes where Sam or Darrin need to interact with a neighbor. The actual house at 1164 Morning Glory Circle is known as the Higgins House, built just two years before "Bewitched" for the Screen Gems series, Our Man Higgins (1962). It's popularly known now as "The Bewitched House," but it has appeared in many other series, movies, and commercials. Portions of the exterior of the Stephens home are also replicated on the soundstage. In the background, whether at the exterior or looking outside from within the home, there are painted backdrops that include houses across the street. This helps the illusion that people live across the street when, in reality, there is just a large park on the Columbia Ranch lot. So, the Kravitzes DO live across the street from the Stephenses. Just don't get picky about it on those location shots.
