While reviewing the video game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (2007) on the Totally Rad Show in 2007, Dan Trachtenberg said that he wished he could make this movie. In January 2019, he was announced to direct the film. However in August 2019, he dropped out of the film for unknown reasons.
