James Earl Jones was considered for the role of Benjamin Sisko. Jones is, of course, famous for having voiced another famous science fiction character, Darth Vader, the father of Luke Skywalker. Sisko's father was played by Brock Peters, who also voiced Darth Vader in the NPR adaptation.
