In this movie, Mike is friends with Randall while enemies with Sulley; but towards the end of the movie and Monsters & Co. (2001), Mike is friends with Sulley while Randall becomes his enemy, tying into the events of the first movie where Randall starts referring to Mike by his surname, Wazowski, as well.
