A contradiction of the movie was the fact that while the company About-The-Fit supports its employees dressing informally for work-Ben stood out from the other interns because he insisted on wearing a suit and tie every day,and Jules told him that he wasn't required to-the head of the company,Jules,always wore formal outfits and high-heeled shoes.Anne Hathaway considered making her character somewhat more casual by making it a "trademark"for her to kick off her shoes while working and walk around the building in her stocking feet.The idea was rejected due to it being impractical for shooting some of the scenes.
