When the boys first arrive at the bar, they discuss their plans beside the telephone, and Louis says to Charlie, "Damn Skippy." It's a tongue-in-cheek reference to Skippy (1967), an Australian television series, about a kangaroo raised by a family, who manage the local national park. Skippy is also a brand of peanut butter, with a kangaroo logo.
