Perry always addressed Lt. Tragg by his police rank, but was on a first-name basis with Lt. Anderson and Lt. Drumm. This is likely because of there was a considerable age difference between Ray Collins and Raymond Burr - Mr. Collins was 28 years Mr. Burr's senior - so Perry was more respectful. On the other hand, Mr. Burr, Wesley Lau (Lt. Anderson) and Richard Anderson (Lt. Drumm) were contemporaries - there was only a nine-year spread in their ages, and Mr. Burr was the eldest of the three - so it was probably more acceptable for Perry to use a more familiar term of address with them.
