The final words of this movie, as said by the Stanton Carlisle character, are "Mister, I was born for it". Bradley Cooper capture to scene in the first take. This contrast to the character in the 1947 movie where he says "Mister, I was made for it". The reason for the change in one word is not known as Stanton's response is not part of the ending of the novel that formed the basis for both films. While the 2021 movie ends on this sentence and a downbeat note, the Producer of the 1947 didn't want to leave on such a negative note so include an additional segment to ensure the film left with a more upbeat ending. Tyrone Power, the Stanton Carlisle character in the 1947 movie, consider it his favourite movie and was insistent on studio buying the film rights so he could star in it, knowing it was a departure from his established matinee idol persona.
