John Knoll, VFX supervisor, argued with George Lucas that the final duel between Yoda and Dooku shouldn't involve lightsabers, since they they were Force masters. Knoll envisioned the duel as a battle of the wizards, pulling references from Akira. George said they would include a little bit of that but he thought people had been wanting to see light saber yielding Yoda for years and he was going to give it to them.
