The traps found on the planet are all very similar to the ones used by the original special forces group in Predator (1987), so similar that they could indicate that at least Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) had been taken to the planet at some time in the past, as stated in the commentary. However, those plans were dropped, along with Danny Glover's character reappearing.
