There are many instances where the series is inspired by Stanley Kubrick. Some examples include the use of The Blue Danube Waltz (most notably from 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)) and distinct cinematography choices (low tracking shots, symmetrical mise-en-scene, and wide-angle shot choices)
