Leslie Nielsen's wig when Renfield arrives at the castle and when Dracula goes to the ball was inspired by Dracula's hair in the beginning of the then recent Dracula di Bram Stoker (1992) which had been directed by Francis Ford Coppola and had won three Academy Awards.
