In the shootout scene, director Bob Saget was originally narrating everything that was happening off screen so Norm MacDonald and Artie Lange can react to it. Then after, Norm told Bob, "Ok, now this time don't say anything and we'll just have one unchanging expression on our faces for the entire fight". That's the take that ended up in the movie.
